Terms and Conditions
All participants must obtain comprehensive travel insurance before departure. We strongly recommend coverage that includes:
Travel insurance is mandatory specifically to protect against financial losses from trip cancellations due to weather, transportation failures, or other circumstances beyond our control. Participants who fail to obtain adequate travel insurance have no recourse against Alaska Rainbow Adventures for any losses resulting from trip cancellations, delays, or modifications for any reason.
Given Southwest Alaska's remote location and unpredictable weather, travel insurance isn't just recommended—it's essential protection against significant financial loss.
COVID-19 Awareness: All guides and guests must remain vigilant regarding COVID-19, which continues to impact travel and operations. We implement appropriate health protocols as conditions warrant.
Medical Fitness and Disclosure: Participation requires adequate physical condition for wilderness activities including hiking, wading in rivers, and camping. You must disclose any medical conditions that could affect your safety or participation.
All trips are booked first-come, first-served and subject to prior commitments. Spaces are not guaranteed until confirmed with required deposit. Group size limits: Standard trips 2-10 persons, Togiak River maximum 6 guests (federal permit requirement), Goodnews and Kanektok Rivers maximum 8 guests. Single anglers may join existing trips subject to availability.
While we are shooting for 250 pounds per person including all personal gear and any equipment rented from us. We will attempt to accommodate you whenever possible, within the limits of available aircraft. This may result in additional charges for extra aircraft capacity, requirement to leave excess items behind at departure point (most air services provide temporary storage during trip duration), or no guarantee of accommodation beyond the 250 lb limit.
Deposits and Payment Schedule: 50% deposit required to confirm booking, due within 15 days of requesting space. Balance due 60 days before trip start or June 1st, whichever comes first. Reservations within 60 days require full payment at booking.
Payment Methods: Check or wire transfer.
No-Refund Policy: All deposits and payments are non-refundable and non-transferable for any reason, including but not limited to illness, injury, weather delays, travel disruptions, or personal emergencies. Due to Alaska's short fishing season and advance commitments for aircraft, guides, and permits, we cannot accommodate cancellations with refunds. Transfer Option: You may transfer your reserved spot to another qualified person subject to our approval and completion of required documentation.
Important: Air transportation is provided by independent charter operators and is NOT owned or controlled by Alaska Rainbow Adventures. We are not responsible for flight delays, cancellations, mechanical issues, aircraft safety, pilot qualifications, baggage loss/damage, or weather-related disruptions. All air services are subject to weather conditions and charter operator availability beyond our control.
Alaska Rainbow Adventures is not responsible for loss, damage, or injury caused by weather conditions, natural disasters, transportation problems, government actions, travel restrictions, health emergencies, pandemics, equipment failures beyond our control, third-party service provider issues, or other events beyond our reasonable control.
Weather Decision Authority: Floatplane pilots have final authority on fly/no-fly decisions. After 2-3 days of weather delays (depending on trip length), insufficient time may remain to complete the trip safely. Head guides may cancel trips due to flooding, dangerous water levels, or other extreme conditions. All weather-related cancellations are considered force majeure events subject to our no-refund policy.
Included: Round-trip air transportation, tent camp accommodations, all meals, professional guiding services, life jackets and safety equipment.
NOT Included: Alaska fishing license and king salmon stamp (mandatory - purchase at www.adfg.alaska.gov), fishing tackle/rods/reels/flies/leader materials, personal sleeping bags, travel insurance (mandatory), accommodations/meals at starting/ending points, gratuities for guides and staff (customary 15-20% of trip cost), personal items, alcoholic beverages, park fees and taxes.
No fishing success is guaranteed. Fishing depends on factors beyond our control including weather, water conditions, fish migration patterns, and natural behavior. We cannot guarantee you will catch fish, achieve daily limits, or catch specific species.
Fish Harvest Limitations: Due to remote camp operations, we have no facilities for fish processing, preservation, or shipping. We occasionally harvest male salmon for camp meals, and guests may keep limited fish on final day (weather/logistics permitting), but this is never guaranteed. Do not expect to take home processed fish or daily limits.
Internal Dispute Resolution: Before legal action, parties agree to attempt resolution through direct communication, good faith efforts within 30 days, and optional mediation in Alaska if needed.
Safety Requirements and Guide Authority: You must follow all safety instructions and comply with safety protocols. Our guides have full authority for safety-related field decisions. Failure to follow instructions may result in exclusion from activities, voiding of liability protections, or responsibility for additional costs.
Alcohol Policy: Moderate consumption by guests 21+ permitted during designated camp times only. Strictly prohibited during fishing/river activities, equipment operation, safety briefings, and transportation. Violation of safety policies places yourself and others at risk and may void liability protections.
We utilize satellite communications for emergencies. Response procedures are handled case-by-case depending on situation, location, weather, and available resources. Response times may be limited by weather, terrain, and other factors beyond our control.
