This is a binding legal agreement that affects your legal rights. By signing this agreement, you waive certain legal rights, including the right to sue. Please read carefully and consult an attorney if you have questions. This agreement is governed by Alaska state law.
All guests must complete and electronically sign our comprehensive Terms, Conditions & Liability Agreement before participating in any trip. This includes detailed participant information, medical disclosures, and acknowledgment of all risks and terms outlined below. Upon booking, you will be provided with the electronic agreement to review and sign before your departure date.
The terms on this page represent a summary of the full agreement for your review. The legally binding version you will sign electronically covers all content described here. If you have questions about any provision before booking, contact Paul directly.
Medical & Health Disclosure
Participation requires adequate physical condition for wilderness activities. Full disclosure is mandatory before any trip.
Participant Responsibility: Participants acknowledge that they are solely responsible for determining whether they are physically and mentally capable of safely participating in wilderness activities, including hiking, wading in rivers, rafting, camping, and travel in remote environments. Participants agree to disclose any medical conditions, injuries, or limitations that may affect their safety.
- Complete disclosure of all medical conditions, medications, or physical limitations
- Swimming ability assessment — required for river safety protocols and equipment assignments
- Emergency contact information with phone numbers
- Any allergies, dietary restrictions, or health concerns
River activities require basic water safety awareness. You must accurately disclose your swimming ability level as this affects safety protocols and equipment assignments on the water.
Alaska Rainbow Adventures reserves the right to exclude participants who cannot safely participate in wilderness activities. This determination is at the sole discretion of the guides and staff and carries no refund obligation.
Travel Insurance — Mandatory
Required before your trip. No exceptions. This is the only protection against financial loss from weather delays and cancellations beyond our control.
All participants are required to obtain travel insurance that includes trip cancellation and trip interruption coverage equal to the full cost of the trip. This protects you in the event weather, transportation delays, or other circumstances beyond our control prevent the trip from operating as planned.
We strongly recommend, but do not require, the following additional coverage:
- Emergency medical evacuation
- Coverage for remote wilderness activities
- Helicopter evacuation
- Pandemic-related cancellation
- “Cancel For Any Reason” (CFAR) upgrades
Remote Southwest Alaska is subject to unpredictable weather and transportation limitations. If a trip is delayed, interrupted, or canceled for reasons outside our control, travel insurance is the only protection against financial loss. Guests who do not obtain adequate coverage have no recourse against Alaska Rainbow Adventures for losses resulting from delays, cancellations, or modifications.
Standard travel insurance can typically be purchased well after booking. Cancel For Any Reason (CFAR) coverage must typically be purchased within 14–21 days of your initial deposit. Don’t wait.
If you have not yet purchased travel insurance, we can help you find a policy that meets the required coverage. Contact us and we will follow up. See also our Travel Insurance page for more information.
Booking, Weight & Payment
All booking terms, weight limits, and payment policies — including the strict no-refund policy — are described in full below.
All trips are booked on a first-come, first-served basis and are subject to prior booking commitments. Spaces are not guaranteed until confirmed with the required deposit.
Group Size and Capacity Restrictions:
- Standard trips accommodate 2–10 persons depending on the water
- Togiak River: Limited to 6 guests by federal permit requirement
- Goodnews and Kanektok Rivers: Limited to 8 guests
- Available spaces are subject to change based on permits and logistics
Single Anglers: Single anglers may inquire about joining existing trips subject to availability. We maintain an email list for updates on open spaces.
Weight limit: 250 pounds per person including all personal gear and any equipment rented from us, due to aircraft capacity limitations. We will attempt to accommodate additional weight whenever possible within the limits of available aircraft. This may result in additional charges for extra aircraft capacity, a requirement to leave excess items behind at the departure point, or no guarantee of accommodation beyond the 250 lb limit.
Deposit and Payment Schedule:
- 50% deposit required to confirm booking, due within 15 days of requesting space
- Balance due 60 days before trip start or June 1st of your trip year, whichever comes first
- Reservations made within 60 days of departure require full payment at booking
- Payment by check or wire transfer only
All deposits and payments are non-refundable and non-transferable for any reason, including but not limited to illness, injury, weather delays, travel disruptions, personal emergencies, pandemics, or natural disasters.
Due to Alaska’s extremely short fishing season and the advance commitments required for aircraft, guides, permits, and remote logistics, cancellations cannot be accommodated with refunds or rebooking.
Transfer Option: You may transfer your reserved spot to another qualified person subject to our approval and completion of all required documentation.
Aircraft & Company Limitations
Air transportation is operated by independent third parties. Alaska Rainbow Adventures is not responsible for flight delays, weather cancellations, or incidents occurring during air transport.
Air transportation is provided by independent third-party charter operators and is NOT owned, operated, or controlled by Alaska Rainbow Adventures.
- Flight delays, cancellations, or mechanical issues
- Aircraft safety, maintenance, or pilot qualifications
- Baggage loss or damage during air transport
- Any incidents, accidents, or injuries occurring during air transport
- Weather-related flight disruptions or charter operator policies
Floatplane pilots have final authority on fly/no-fly decisions. After 2–3 days of weather delays, insufficient time may remain to complete the trip safely. Head guides may cancel trips due to flooding, dangerous water levels, or other extreme conditions. All weather-related cancellations are force majeure events subject to our no-refund policy.
Alaska Rainbow Adventures is not responsible for any loss, damage, or injury to persons or property arising from: weather conditions and natural disasters; transportation problems; government actions, regulations, or travel restrictions; pandemics, epidemics, or health emergencies; equipment failure beyond our reasonable control; acts of God; or third-party service provider failures.
Personal Property: Participants are solely responsible for the safety and security of their personal equipment, clothing, fishing gear, cameras, phones, and other belongings. Alaska Rainbow Adventures is not responsible for loss, theft, or damage to personal property during transportation, river travel, camp operations, or any trip activities.
For safety or comfort reasons, we reserve the right to cancel or make reasonable schedule changes to all or portions of your trip without recourse. Force majeure events do not entitle guests to refunds, credits, or rebooking.

Safety, Guide Authority & Conduct
Guides have full field authority. Conduct that endangers the trip, other guests, or staff will result in removal without refund.
Guide Authority: Alaska Rainbow Adventures guides have full authority regarding safety decisions during all trip activities. Participants agree to follow all instructions and safety directives provided by guides and staff.
Failure to follow guide instructions or engaging in unsafe conduct may increase the risk of injury and may result in restriction from activities or termination of participation in the trip. If, in the sole judgment of the guides or staff, a participant refuses to follow safety instructions, is under the influence of drugs or excessive alcohol during activities, or behaves in a manner that endangers themselves, other guests, staff, wildlife, or the trip, Alaska Rainbow Adventures may restrict that participant from activities or terminate their participation at the earliest practical and safe opportunity without refund.
Any additional transportation, evacuation, or logistical costs resulting from such removal, including but not limited to aircraft charter or helicopter transport, shall be the sole responsibility of the participant.
Moderate consumption by guests 21+ is permitted during designated camp times only. Alcohol is strictly prohibited during fishing, river activities, equipment operation, safety briefings, and transportation.
Alaska Rainbow Adventures operates in remote wilderness environments where professional medical care, rescue services, and evacuation resources may not be immediately available. Rescue or medical evacuation may be significantly delayed or impossible due to weather, terrain, transportation limitations, communication constraints, or the remoteness of the operating area.
We utilize satellite communications for emergencies. Response times may be limited by weather, terrain, and other factors beyond our control.
