The Most Inclusive Trip We Offer

Fisherman's Deluxe — How It Works

Every aspect of camp logistics is handled by a dedicated support crew. Your job is to fish.

Float Fish Alaska — Alaska Rainbow Adventures

The Fisherman's Deluxe is the most inclusive program Alaska Rainbow Adventures runs. Each morning the gear boat loads camp while you eat breakfast and rig rods, then moves ahead as you fish. You don't set up camp. You don't break it down. By the time your raft pulls off the water each evening, everything is already waiting downstream.

The same gear and equipment used in the Standard Style program — the same rafts, the same food quality, the same experienced guides — runs through the Deluxe. The difference is entirely in the support structure: a dedicated assistant and a second boat whose only job is to keep camp running so yours doesn't have to.

Still a True Wilderness Float Trip

Even on the Fisherman's Deluxe, this remains a genuine wilderness experience on remote Southwest Alaska rivers — fly-in only, no road access, wild fish, gravel bar camps. The Deluxe upgrade is in the camp support, not in the wildness of the trip.

A Typical Day on the Fisherman's Deluxe

Breakfast is ready before you rig rods. While you launch with the guide, the support crew strikes camp and loads the gear boat. You fish your way downriver — running new water, working the best runs — and pull off the water in the evening to find camp already set downstream: tents up, kitchen running, dinner underway.

Who This Trip Is For

The Fisherman's Deluxe is the right choice for some anglers and not others. Here is an honest look at both.

The Fisherman's Deluxe Is a Natural Fit If You…
  • ComfortWant maximum comfort in the wilderness without handling daily camp duties
  • Fishing timeWant every possible hour on the water — the gear boat removes the camp trade-off entirely
  • OccasionAre celebrating a milestone trip or joining a group that wants the full premium experience
  • PreferenceWant the full Alaska float adventure without the logistics — just fishing, meals, and the river
Not the right fit if…

You enjoy the full wilderness camp experience — setting up your own site, participating in the daily rhythm of a float. The Standard Style program is designed for exactly that kind of trip, with the same fishing, the same guides, and a more hands-on camp experience. See the Standard Style program →

What Makes This Program Different

The Gear Boat Advantage

One boat carries the anglers. A second boat carries the camp. That separation is the entire point.

Dedicated Support · Runs Every Deluxe Trip

You Pull Off the Water to a Finished Camp

On a Standard Style trip, the guides and guests collaborate on camp setup and breakdown — that is a normal part of the trip and most guests find it satisfying. On the Fisherman's Deluxe, that entire task is handled by a dedicated camp assistant and a separate gear boat that runs ahead of your fishing raft each day. Your tents are pitched. Your cots are set. Camp is ready. There is no overlap between your fishing day and your camp logistics.

The gear boat carries all camp equipment, food stores, and dry goods — separate from the fishing raft entirely. Your raft carries anglers, rods, and your guide. Nothing is crowded, there is no gear wedged between seats, and the two boats never compete for space or timing.

The camp assistant scouts take-outs, selects sites, and has the camp functional before your raft arrives. That sequence — gear boat moves, fishing raft follows — runs every single day of the float, regardless of conditions or how long you fish.

What's Included in Camp

Generous Camp Meals

Full, generous meals built for a day on the water. Breakfast before you launch, hot food at camp in the evening. Nothing fancy — solid, satisfying camp food.

Private Facilities

Private toilet facilities and wilderness shower setup at each camp. A practical comfort that makes a meaningful difference over a multi-day float.

Custom Raft Frames

Spacious, custom-built frames on comfortable 16-foot rafts with front and rear seating. Optimal guide-to-angler ratio. Room to cast without getting in each other's way.

Floatplane Access

All rivers are fly-in only. No road access — which is why the fishing is what it is. Floatplane logistics are coordinated with your booking, handled by the same crew.

Available on Three River Systems

Where the Fisherman's Deluxe Runs

The Fisherman's Deluxe is available on the Alagnak, Goodnews, and Kanektok Rivers. Each offers a distinct fishery and season window.

Kanektok River — The most-scheduled Deluxe option. The Kanektok runs 90 miles through the Togiak National Wildlife Refuge with all five Pacific salmon species and exceptional wild Rainbow Trout. July is peak for dry-fly mouse fishing — one of the most distinctive experiences in Southwest Alaska fly fishing. Five Kanektok trips are currently available in July 2026.

Goodnews River — Known for its leopard-spotted Rainbow Trout and outstanding late-summer Coho Salmon. A strong choice for anglers whose window opens in August or September, when the Coho run peaks and the rainbows are keyed in heavily.

Alagnak River — A legendary Bristol Bay drainage in Katmai National Preserve. All five Pacific salmon species through the summer window, with strong Rainbow Trout and Dolly Varden populations. The broadest seasonal window of the three Deluxe rivers.
